If the idea of driving down old English country roads or driving along the French Riviera doesn't tickle your fancy maybe the Mongol Rally is more your thing. Teams from all around the world get together and take part in this 10,000 mile trip, starting in July from the UK and finishing in Mongolia.
The unsupported rally focuses on the team's vehicle and distance covered rather than the places visited along the way. Teams will drive through 15 countries, with up to 300 vehicles being involved. Drivers have to battle their way through deserts, down dirt roads and mountains without any help if they break down. The rules are simple, your car must not be older than 10 years, engine can't be bigger than 1.2 litres and you must raise at least AUD1, 500 for charity. Participants aren't given a route to follow or a time limit, you just have to end up in Mongolia.
Does this sound like your idea of a good driving trip? If so, book your car hire online or give one of our friendly reservations staff a call on 1300 656 601 today! Just keep in mind you will be crossing a fair few borders, check with the suppliers if they allow this!
