We are driving from Wrexham to Cardiff and stopping at many beautiful destinations along the way. Auto Europe has put together the perfect itinerary for any length of time you desire.
Our journey starts in Wrexham, the largest town in north Wales. Here you can visit one of the seven wonders of Wales, the magnificent St Giles' Church. This church was built between the 14th and 16th century and has charming architecture both inside and out. Whilst you are here you can also check out the museums, head to the indoor markets, do some shopping or try some of the local multicultural delicacies including Italian, Chinese and more. From Wrexham drive for about an hour north west until you reach our next destination, Llandudno. This is the largest coastal town in Wales and boasts a beautiful promenade and pier. Visit Great Orme, a limestone headland that has breathtaking coastal views and scenery, the best part is you can walk, drive or tram up to the top!
Next stop is Aberystwyth, a smaller seaside town. If you are visiting during the summer make the trip to Cardigan Bay for a stunning view of the sunset. Sit on the sea front promenade and enjoy the views of visit one of the beaches. You can also try out some water sports or go dolphin watching on a boat trip. After spending some time here, hop back in your rental car and drive south for about two hours until you reach Swansea. There is a lot to see and do in Swansea. Visit one or many of the famous landmarks here including the Swansea Castle, Mumbles Pier or the National Waterfront Museum. If you would prefer to spend some time outside, drive to Swansea Beach, Maritime Quarter, Singleton Park or Lake Fendrod. Go for a swim, stroll through the botanical gardens or feed the swans and fishes in the lake. From Swansea we will drive a further hour south until reaching Cardiff, the capital of Wales.
Cardiff is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. There it lots to keep you busy in this bustling city. Start by visiting the Cardiff Castle, located in the city centre. Dating back to the nineteenth century the interior is covered with intricate artistic work. There are endless museums and galleries to visit in Cardiff, just see which ones tickle your fancy! Cardiff Bay offers a cosmopolitan experience and has plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars for you to spend the afternoon at and enjoy.
