    Four Must Do's in Amsterdam with Auto Europe

    A visit to the Anne Frank House is a must. This historic site is where the Frank family hid in Nazi occupied Holland for two years. The self-guided tour through the house takes about two hours to complete, however you can travel at your own pace. You are able to tour the different rooms in the house, including the secret annex. The original bookcase that hid the staircase to the annex still remains however all the other furniture has been removed. If you'd like to avoid the line, which can often be up to a four hour wait, it is recommended to get to the museum about two hours before it opens. This moving experience is one not to be missed.

    Follow the sweet scent of blooming flowers to the famous Amsterdam Flower Markets. This floating flower market along the Singel canal is home to thousands of beautiful, bright flowers from famous Dutch tulips to roses, gerberas, lilies, sunflowers, cypresses and more. If you are visiting in December be sure to keep an eye out for the lush green Christmas trees available for purchase at the markets.

    Red Light District

    When the sun goes down, take a stroll through the Red Light District. This bustling district comes alive at night and is filled with bars, restaurants, museums and more. From Asian inspired cuisine to chocolate covered waffles, your mouth will be watering. Enjoy the relaxed bars and pubs and the gothic style architecture that surrounds you. The canals are illuminated with red lights and small signs make you aware of when you are entering and exiting the district.

    Vondel Park

    Take a visit to the fashion and museum district near Vondel Park. If you are planning to hire a bike then take a ride through Vondel Park, the largest city park in Amsterdam. Enjoy a picnic in the sun, watch a free concert in the summer, look at the monuments or just lie in the grass and watch the world go by. The Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and The House of Bols among many other museums are just a short walk from Vondel Park. This precinct is also where you will find the iconic 'I Amsterdam' sign. Jump in or on your favourite letter and be sure to get a pic before you leave Amsterdam.
