A great way to get familiar with Luton and the history of the area, is by visiting Luton Museum and Art Gallery, located in Wardown Park just outside the town centre. Housing one of the largest collections of early aircraft in the world, along with many vintage automobiles also, the museum is a rare insight into the development of the flying world and has many working aircraft that are regularly flown.
If want a taste of city life, London is just a short drive to the south with your rental car. You can visit all the sights of the big city, such as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, before taking the short drive back to Luton for another nights rest.
