This area was a retreat for Hawaiian Royalty in the 1800's and continues to draw people from around the world today. Drive into Diamond Head for incredible 360 views from the summit, then hike to the top of this volcanic tuff cone. For incredible city views, take the Mt. Tantaulus/Round Top drive, through the rain forest of the Punchbowl Crater, and stop at Puu Ualakaa State Wayside (about 2/3 of the way up the mountain).

As with many cities, parking areas can be congested in city centres and heavily trafficked areas during peak times. However, meters and car parks will be available throughout the island. Rates will change depending on location and length of stay, but often cost between US $20-30 for 24 hours. Hourly is usually around US$1 per hour.
There are currently no toll roads on the island of Oahu.
