For fans of history, the National Museum of Archaeology is found a short drive north, and south is the Reina Sofia National Museum and Art Centre, which contains a huge collection of modern art.

Built in the 1700s, the palace is made up of over 2,800 rooms and is the largest royal building in Europe. Just a short distance from here you will find another famous building, Almudena Catedral. A huge cathedral which took over 100 years to complete, it’s grand size alone is enough to warrant a visit.
