Travelling in Bologna with a Car Hire

Once you arrive in the city centre of Bologna, you will soon notice the towers which are often used as the symbol of the city. Built in the 12th century, and named Asinella and Garisenda after the families that built them, the two towers are a prominent feature of the skyline. Park your rental car near the centre, and visit the towers, the taller of which allows public access to the lookout on the top. Home to one of the oldest universities in the world, Bologna has always had an emphasis on education, history and the arts. The Basilica was decorated with paintings and carvings by many artists, including Michelangelo, and is well worth a visit.

Being located in the centre of northern Italy, Bologna is perfect for daytrips to several cities which are a comfortable drive away. To the north you can visit the canals and sights of Venice and to the south are the cities of Florence and Pisa, which are also quite popular.
